poem for marissa
November 4th, 2021
I drive past his exit and want to turn down
But I am thinking of you, your celebration
of ever a new lover to fall for, to fall in love
with; touching a new handsome man and
losing myself in the beauty of their gaze, the
look on her face when we get really clever
together; I want to sniff the sides of their
faces, let the chemicals in my body ease the
pain of living, of being so alone and stupid,
floundering ugly and deep in the haze of love
